Encapsulated Coil Manufacturing

ATAM designs and manufactures 15-to-65 mm wide encapsulated coils. Encapsulated coils – that is coils dipped into an encapsulating material – are protected against weather agents, fluids, moisture, and vibrations and find a wide variety of industrial uses. ATAM’s encapsulated coils are designed specifically for pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, gas, and water applications. The Company’s encapsulated coils are processed using a wide selection of thermoplastic and thermosetting resins, featuring a temperature rating that ranges from class 135°C to class 200°C, according to the customer’s needs.

ATAM’s encapsulated coils are customized with the requested type of copper wire according to the winding data. Furthermore, they can be equipped with various connection options such as DIN, AMP, or Deutsch and, on request, even customized versions.

Note that all the customized connections receive formal authorization from the designer of the connection and are in compliance with the technical drawings provided by the customer before entering production. Furthermore, the manufacturing process is monitored at every stage and is subject to a strict sequence of final inspections, including electrical, mechanical, and visual tests.

The resulting products are superior quality coils with a pleasant aesthetic appearance, excellent performance, and a high level of safety.

Encapsulated coils and safety standards
All the encapsulated coils manufactured follow industrial and household goods international safety standards. On request, ATAM’s encapsulated coils can also be manufactured according to ISO automotive, UL, ATEX, IEC-Ex, and VDE standards or other standards as specified by the customer.

One of the company's main strengths is the flexibility to accommodate each customer’s needs. Indeed, most of ATAM’s encapsulated coils are fully customized and developed in partnership with the customer through a direct interface with the Company’s technical office and appointed designer.

Working side-by-side with the customer allows ATAM to offer unique configurations of encapsulated coils, and this approach has made the Company a reference point in its sector.

Solenoid Operators

ATAM designs and manufactures solenoid operators for solenoid valves. The solenoid operator’s quality - being a solenoid operator, one of the two functional units of a solenoid valve, with the valve body being the second such functional element – is critical to having reliable solenoid valves. A solenoid operator with its coil, core, core tube, shading coil, and springs must be manufactured with the utmost accuracy and the best materials to obtain high-quality solenoid valves.

Given that these products find popular application in several key sectors, such as water treatment, electrical appliances, industrial processes, heating and air-conditioning, medical equipment, automotive, textile, food, pneumatic, and many others, their reliability is of critical importance.

THE MAKING OF A SOLENOID VALVE
ATAM chooses only the highest quality raw materials for the manufacturing of its solenoid operators and, thanks to its high-tech machinery, can guarantee high precision machining on each solenoid operator it manufactures.

The Company further ensures reliability through hard tests carried out according to the most stringent safety and quality standards. The significant attention paid to the product in every stage of the process, from design to testing and finished product, makes the solenoid operators manufactured by ATAM among the best on the market.

Each solenoid operator produced by the Company features tubes in brass or stainless steel with a 10- or 13-mm diameter, laser welding or riveting, fixed by thread or flange, with operation 2/2 or 3/2, normally open or normally closed.

The Company's gaskets for its solenoid operators are made in NBR, EPDM, or FPM. However, many additional materials are available on request. Furthermore, also on request, it is possible to order special solenoid operator configurations to meet any requirements.

Valve Connectors EN 175301-803 Female/Male Self Assembly

ATAM offers high-quality valve connectors engineered specifically to connect valves to the plumbing and related piping system easily and safely.

ATAM valve connectors comply with EN 175301-803 standards, formerly known as DIN 43650, and are available in cable entry version for cable self-assembly or can be supplied with a moulded cable, at the discretion of the customer and based on specific needs.In addition to standard valve connectors, ATAM has a wide range of products with built-in control circuits that offer additional functions, such as LED visual indicators, over-voltage protection, rectification, and more.

ATAM’s valve connectors with cable are over-moulded in polyurethane (TPU). This ensures a good level of protection against oils and chemical agents, and the risk of surface contamination from foreign bodies is significantly reduced. These valve connectors feature IP 65, IP 67, and IP69K class protection (certified and in compliance with IEC 60529). When correctly installed, this ensures reliable performance when exposed to fluid jets and dust.

Circular Connectors Female/Male

CIRCULAR POWER CONNECTORS FOR EVERY APPLICATION

ATAM’S M8 and M12 circular connectors, also known as circular interconnects, are multi-pin electrical connectors widely used in various power and data transfer applications.

In order to meet the needs of its customers, the Company offers both male and female circular connectors in a cable entry version for cable self-assembly or complete with moulded cable if the project so requires it. M8-type circular connectors are available with 3 or 4 poles, while the M12-type models are available with 3, 4, 5, or 8 poles.

All the circular connectors by ATAM offer up to the IP 67 protection class and are certified and in compliance with IEC 60529. When correctly assembled, this ensures the reliable performance of the circular connectors in the presence of dust and when the product is submerged in water.

Magnetic Proximity Sensors for Magnetic Cylinders

This line of ATAM’s proximity sensors - also known as proximity switches - is primarily used to detect the position of the magnetic piston element inside linear and rotary pneumatic cylinders.

ATAM’s standard proximity sensors feature a full range of circuitry in their housing, such as normally open and normally closed magnetic reed switches or PNP and NPN magnetoresistive sensors.

Both types of proximity switches are high-quality products with magnetoresistive sensors featuring the latest technologies such as superior noise immunity, high vibration resistance, and compact size and reed proximity switches being cost-effective and with high noise immunity.

ATAM also offers a comprehensive range of fastening brackets that allow the proximity sensors to be used with various cylinder types, including tie rod, round, compact, and extrusion. In addition, ATAM’s proximity switches are widely used with cylinders featuring a 6 mm inverted "T" groove extrusion. Once installed, this version allows the proximity sensors to be protected inside the cylinder groove. This type of "T" groove cylinder makes it possible to top-mount ATAM’s patented proximity switches directly into the cylinder groove. This makes assembly and disassembly of the proximity sensors and cylinder very easy.

Pressure Switches

ATAM’s pressure switch line of products finds its main application in detecting and controlling the pressure of air, non-corrosive or non-flammable gases in pneumatic systems and machinery.
